Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experience individual to help us develop and manage our tilapia hatchery infrastructure in Vietnam. The position reports directly to the General Manager and the Group´s Technical Manager for Asia and it is an integral part of Vietnam´s management team.

Responsibilities

Your main role will gravitate around the overall planning, supervision and quality assurance of production processes together with continuous improvement of practices taking place at our hatchery site/s in the country.

You will be working with company’s management team and group’s technical manager in order to deliver the bigger strategy of making company a top-class supplier of tilapia fingerlings and juveniles in the Vietnamese market.

In particular you will be contributing to this strategy through:

·       - Developing and maintaining new and existing hatchery infrastructure throughout the country

·       - Recruiting and development of hatchery staff

·       - Developing and implementing Hatchery Production Plans and Quality Management Plans.

Specific Activities we expect you to undertake in order to deliver this goal include:

·       - Planning day to day activities in the hatchery

·       - Monitoring the compliance of day-to-day activities with best practices as they are established by SOP’s and Management plans.

·       - Maintaining and if necessary developing systems for control of those activities.

·       - Carry out investigations and gathering data in order to determine what are the root-causes for deviation

·       - Most importantly you will be providing effective support in order to solve the problems and challenges arising from day-to-day activities, including changes in production practices if needed.

·       - Fundamental to your role will be to motivate and coach employees and foster a culture of excellence and pride in the execution of the tasks

·       - You will be coordinating with other colleagues to secure that Health and Safety; Fish Health and Environmental Management plans are embedded in the day-to-day operations of hatchery and nursery.

·       - Monitor the quality and accuracy of paper and digital records.

·       - Prepare weekly and monthly reports

·       - Be able to innovate and bring solutions to problems and challenges design and deliver appropriate training plans to new and existing employees.

·       - You will coordinate R&D projects related to the Hatchery and Nursery sites

Job Requirements

·       We are looking for Vietnamese national with very good command of English.

·       Bachelors/Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 7-10 years of working experience either in fish or shrimp hatcheries.  Candidates with direct experience in tilapia hatchery management are preferred and will be prioritized.

·       Excellent planning and organizational skills.

·       Demonstrable experience at managing and developing people. Ability to identify training and development needs for the hatchery staff.

·       Candidates must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the management of fish/shrimp hatcheries including facility management, biological management, economics and people management.

·       Strong problem-solving skills.

·       Strong data analysis and interpretation skills

·       Flexible with time and willing to travel within the country.
